No one tells me that I should be doing more, but I hear it anyway, even in the silence. It's the most popular psychological concept, the one I learned in my early years of therapy: we project onto the world what's pulsating inside of us. The cave manages to shape the rain. If your blood sings, with a sustained cadence and an insistent tempo, a melody that tells you that nothing is enough, that you should be doing more, you'll hear that song in the cars speeding past your window, in the wind that brings change. Love will lose its shape,“I’m so proud of you” will turn into white noise. Everything around you will echo this song.
